Occupational First Aid Course – 3 day

This is a FETAC level 5 course. The Occupational First Aid course now includes Cardiac First Responder training in automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and administering aspirin for heart attack patients. The Occupational First Aid Regulations Safety, Health and Welfare at Work General Applications Regulations S.I. No. 299 of 2007. Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007, there is a requirement on employers based on a risk assessment to have a sufficient number of Occupational First Aiders trained and deployed in the workplace.

With training from our HSA recognised Instructors our Occupational First Aid courses will satisfy your legal requirements for Health and Safety. All our teaching staff are registered Occupational First Aid instructors with the Health & Safety Authority agent OFAAA. This comprehensive course is designed to give the First Aider the skills necessary to give effective life support, diagnose & treat injuries or illness, and maintain care and comfort of the casualty. Participants will also learn to perform resuscitation and to use a defibrillator and administer aspirin.

This three day course covers a comprehensive range of topics to prepare the qualified Occupational First Aider to administer emergency care in the workplace. Participants will learn a high level of practical skill and theoretical knowledge, so that they can deal competently with any situation that may arise in the working environment.
